Privacy Policy
Majella — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 25 May 2026 Last updated: 28 May 2026
1. Who we are
Majella ("Majella", "the app", "we", "us", "our") is operated by:
Trinitas Homes Pty Ltd ABN 63 686 243 416 Suite 329, 98–100 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000, Australia Email: admin@trinitashomes.com.au
For all privacy matters — questions, requests, complaints — contact our Privacy Officer at admin@trinitashomes.com.au.
2. Our privacy philosophy
Majella is a women's cycle and Natural Family Planning (NFP) tracking app. The data you record is some of the most intimate information about your body. We've built Majella around a simple principle: your data stays with you.
-
We do not operate any servers that store your health data.
-
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, marketers, insurers, or any commercial third party.
-
We do not use your data to train AI models.
-
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
3. What data we collect
Data you provide
Majella collects only the data you choose to enter into the app. This includes:
-
Cycle information (period start/end, flow level, spotting)
-
Fertility signs (mucus observations, BBT, LH test results, peak day, symptoms)
-
Notes and tags you add to a day
-
App preferences (settings, notification choices, chart preferences)
-
Your first name and date of birth (if you enter them during onboarding for personalisation)
-
Your NFP instructor's name and email (only if you enter them so you can share charts)
Your name, date of birth, and your instructor's details are stored on your device alongside your other Majella data. They are not transmitted to us, used for tracking, or linked to any analytics.
Data collected automatically
-
Anonymous usage data: we collect information about which features are used, screen views, and general app interaction patterns. This data cannot identify you personally, is never linked to your cycle data, and contains no health information. We use this solely to understand which features matter most and to improve the app. This data is processed by PostHog (see Section 5).
-
Subscription data: if you subscribe to Majella Premium, our subscription management provider (RevenueCat) receives a transaction record from Apple (or Google on Android). RevenueCat stores your subscription status, transaction identifiers, and the platform you purchased on. RevenueCat does not receive your name, cycle data, or any health information. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
-
Device information: basic technical information such as device type, operating system version, and app version may be collected alongside anonymous usage data to help us diagnose issues. This is not linked to your identity or cycle data.
Data we do NOT collect
-
Your email address, phone number, postal address, or government IDs
-
Location data
-
Contacts, photos, microphone or camera data
-
Advertising identifiers
-
Your cycle or health data on our servers
4. Where your data lives
On iPhone (iOS)
Your data is stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced privately through Apple's CloudKit to your other Apple devices signed in to the same Apple ID. CloudKit data is held in your personal iCloud account, encrypted in transit and at rest, and is not accessible to Trinitas Homes.
On Android
Your data is stored on your device. If you choose to enable backup, Majella can save an encrypted backup to your Google Drive account, in a private app-data folder accessible only to the Majella app on your devices signed in to the same Google account. The backup is held in your personal Google Drive and is not accessible to Trinitas Homes.
What this means
Because your cycle data never reaches our servers — whether you sync to iCloud, Google Drive, or keep it purely on-device — we cannot read it, recover it, or restore it for you. If you delete the app without a cloud backup, your data is gone.
5. Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate Majella. None of them receive your cycle or health data.
ProviderPurposeWhat they receive

Google Play BillingProcessing premium subscriptions on AndroidPurchase information handled by Google; we receive only a receipt confirming entitlement
RevenueCatSubscription managementSubscription status, transaction IDs, platform. No personal or health data
PostHogAnonymous usage analyticsFeature usage events, screen views, device type. No personal or health data
Apple's, Google's, RevenueCat's, and PostHog's handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Sharing with your NFP instructor
If you use the share-with-instructor feature, you initiate the share yourself by tapping the share button and choosing what cycles and sections to include. The data is sent via your device's Mail or share sheet — it does not pass through our servers.
6. How we use your data
We use the data you enter only to provide the app's features to you: showing your cycle history, generating predictions and insights, displaying charts, suggesting peak days, and rotating educational tips. All of this processing happens on your device.
We use anonymous usage data solely to understand how the app is used so we can improve features and the app experience. This data is never linked to your cycle data or identity.
We use subscription data solely to verify your Premium subscription status.
We do not use your data for any other purpose.
7. Partner sharing (coming soon)
In a future update, Majella will offer the ability to share selected cycle information with a partner.
-
Opt-in only: partner sharing is never enabled by default. You explicitly choose to share and select what is shared.
-
Encrypted: shared data is encrypted before it is transmitted. We design our systems so that your cycle data remains private and protected.
-
You control what's shared: you choose which data your partner can see (for example, current phase and predicted period, but not BBT or mucus observations).
-
Revocable at any time: you can stop sharing instantly. Your partner loses access immediately.
Partner sharing is not yet available. This section will be updated with further detail when the feature launches.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you have the right to:
-
Access the data you've stored — you can see all of it inside the app
-
Correct any entry — edit or delete it directly in the app
-
Delete your data — uninstall the app, or use the in-app reset/delete options to wipe data from your device and iCloud
-
Export your data — use the share/export functions in the app
-
Withdraw consent — stop using the app at any time
Because your data is on your device (and your cloud account), you exercise these rights directly. We do not need to act as a gatekeeper.
If you live in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Health data is "special category" data under Article 9 of the GDPR. Our legal basis for processing is your explicit consent, given by entering data into the app. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting the data and uninstalling the app.
You also have the right to:
-
Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (use in-app export)
-
Restriction of processing — pause use by closing the app
-
Object to processing — stop using the app
-
Lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority
We do not have an EU representative because we do not process EU residents' data on our servers. If this changes, we will appoint one and update this policy.
If you live in California (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We do not engage in "cross-context behavioural advertising".
If you live in Australia (Privacy Act 1988)
Health information is "sensitive information" under the Australian Privacy Principles. We handle it in accordance with APPs 3, 6, 10, 11 and 12. You may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au if you believe we have breached the APPs.
9. Data retention
Retention of your cycle data is controlled by you:
-
Data stays on your device for as long as the app is installed
-
iCloud or Google Drive backups persist until you delete them via the app or your cloud account settings
-
Uninstalling the app deletes the local data; cloud-backup data is removed when you delete the app's container in iCloud or Google Drive
For data we do hold:
-
Anonymous usage data is retained for up to 24 months, after which it is deleted
-
Subscription data is retained by RevenueCat for as long as your subscription is active and as required by applicable law
10. Security
Your data benefits from the encryption and security of:
-
Your device's operating system (iOS or Android sandboxing and full-disk encryption)
-
Apple CloudKit's encryption in transit and at rest (for iOS users with iCloud sync)
-
Google Drive's encryption in transit and at rest (for Android users with backup enabled)
-
Your device passcode
-
Majella's in-app PIN lock, if you enable it
No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect your device or iCloud account has been compromised, change your passcodes and consider wiping the app data.
11. Children
Majella is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, contact us at admin@trinitashomes.com.au and we will assist (although, because data does not reach us, deletion will need to be performed on the child's device).
Users between 13 and the age of digital consent in their country (16 in many EU states) should have a parent or guardian's permission to use the app.
12. International users
Majella is operated from Australia. Your cycle data is processed on your device wherever you are located, and (if you enable cloud sync or backup) synced through Apple's CloudKit or Google Drive infrastructure. Apple and Google operate data centres globally; their handling is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Anonymous usage data processed by PostHog and subscription data processed by RevenueCat may be stored on servers outside Australia. These services maintain appropriate security safeguards.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Majella evolves. When we do, we will:
-
Update the "Last updated" date at the top
-
Notify you in-app for any material change
-
Where required by law, request your renewed consent
The current version is always available in the app and on our website.
