We built Majella because no one else would.

The story of an app, a saint, and a long-overdue gap in women's health.

THE GAP

Women of faith deserved better.

For years, cycle and fertility apps have been built around one of two assumptions: that your cycle is a problem to be silenced, or that it's data to be sold to advertisers.

Catholic women — and women of any faith who live by natural methods — have been left to choose between apps that don't fit their worldview, spreadsheets that don't fit their lifestyle, and paper charts that get lost in the laundry. We thought there was a third option.

THE SAINT

Why "Majella"?

St. Gerard Majella is the patron saint of mothers, expectant mothers, and unborn children. For centuries, families have turned to him in pregnancy, in waiting, in longing, and in loss.

His name carries the weight of mothers around the world who have prayed through their hardest seasons and their most joyful ones. It felt like the only name this app could have.

THE VISION

What we're building toward.

Majella is the cycle and fertility tracker we wanted to exist — for our wives, our sisters, our daughters, and the women in our parishes.

We want a teenager to download Majella for her first cycle and grow up never knowing the awkwardness of using an app full of things that don't reflect her values.

We want a young woman to use it to understand her own health, without ever being marketed to about "optimising" or "biohacking" her body.

We want a couple discerning NFP to find a tool that takes their method seriously, takes their faith seriously, and takes the everyday reality of marriage seriously.

A mother charting through postpartum to have something gentle, beautiful, and reliable in her hand.

That's it. That's the whole vision.
