Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15/08/2026

Your privacy matters to us. Majella handles information about your cycle and health, which is some of the most personal information there is, and we have built the app to respect that from the ground up. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how it is stored, and the choices and rights you have.

Majella does not predict fertility; it charts what you record and estimates your next period for convenience.

This policy applies to the Majella app and to our website. By using either of them, you agree to this policy. Please also read our Terms and Conditions, which this policy forms part of.

1. Who we are

Majella is owned and operated by Trinitas Homes Pty Ltd (ABN 63 686 243 416), a company registered in Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Trinitas Homes Pty Ltd, and "you" and "your" refer to you, the person using Majella or our website.

For privacy questions or requests, contact us at admin@trinitashomes.com.au.

2. Our approach in short

Majella is built to keep your information with you. The cycle and health information you record is stored on your own device. If you choose to turn on backup or sync, that information is kept in your own private cloud account provided by your device platform, not on servers that we run. We describe exactly what that means below.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow others to use it for advertising. We collect the smallest amount of information we reasonably can.

We use a small amount of analytics on our website only, to understand which pages people read. The Majella app contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking software of any kind. Your cycle data is never sent to us.

3. The information we collect

Information you record in the app. This includes the cycle and health information you enter, such as period dates, temperature readings, mucus and other observations, intercourse, symptoms, moods, notes, and the settings and preferences you choose. It can also include details you add to your profile, such as your name or the name and email address of a fertility awareness instructor if you choose to enter one.

This information is treated as sensitive information under Australian and other applicable privacy laws, and we handle it with extra care as described below. Most of it stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Subscription information. If you subscribe to Majella Pro, the purchase is made and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not see or store your payment card details. We use a subscription management provider, RevenueCat, to confirm your subscription status. For this purpose, a randomly generated identifier and your subscription and entitlement status are processed, but this is not linked by us to your name or health information.

Information when you contact us. If you email us or otherwise get in touch, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your email address and the contents of your message, so that we can respond.

Information when you share with an instructor. If you use the feature that lets you send a copy of your chart to a fertility awareness instructor, that information is sent from your device to the email address you enter. You control when this happens and who receives it.

Information collected through our website. If you provide your email address through our website, we collect it so that we can send the updates you requested. Our website is built and hosted on Wix. Wix processes limited technical and usage information, such as your IP address, device and browser details, the pages you visit and how you interact with the site. This helps keep the website running securely and allows us to understand which pages people read. Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for these purposes. We do not use them for third-party advertising. These website analytics do not receive information you record in the Majella app.

4. Your health information

What we collect. When you use Majella you can record your period and flow, basal body temperature, wrist temperature, cervical mucus observations, LH test results, peak day, intercourse, symptoms, notes, your name, your date of birth, and the email address of a fertility awareness instructor if you choose to enter one. This is health information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and we treat it as sensitive information.

Where it lives. Your cycle data is stored on your phone. It is not sent to any Majella server, because Majella does not run one. We cannot read it.

Google Drive backup on Android. If you turn on backup, Majella writes a copy of your data to a hidden folder inside your own Google Drive that only Majella can open. We cannot see that folder. You can delete it from inside the app.

iCloud on iPhone. On iPhone, Majella's data is stored in your own private iCloud area. We cannot see it. It is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and your Apple account settings.

Your phone's own backup. Android's system backup and Apple's device backup may also include Majella's data. That is a setting on your phone, controlled by you, not by us, and we cannot read those backups either.

Apple Health and Health Connect. If you give permission, Majella can read cycle information from Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, and can write your observations back to them. This only happens with your permission, only for the record types you approve, and you can withdraw it at any time in your phone's settings. Data Majella has already written into Apple Health or Health Connect stays there until you delete it in those apps. Majella's "Delete all data" function cannot remove records for a type whose write permission you have since turned off.

Who else receives anything. RevenueCat, Inc. in the United States handles subscription purchases and receives your purchase history and a random identifier for your installation. It never receives cycle data. Google receives your Drive backup file, which is encrypted in transit and stored in your own account. When the app checks for updated content it contacts GitHub, which receives your IP address and nothing else. We do not sell your information and we never will.

Overseas handling. RevenueCat stores customer data in the United States. Google and GitHub may process information in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate. Information handled outside Australia may be subject to different privacy and data-protection laws.

How long we keep it. Your cycle data is kept on your device until you delete it. Your Drive backup is kept until you delete it or turn backup off. Subscription records are kept by our payment provider for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting, currently seven years in Australia.

Deleting everything. Go to Settings, then Delete all data, then Delete Everything. This erases the database on your phone, clears Majella's saved settings, deletes your Google Drive backup, and if you tick the box it also erases the records Majella wrote into Health Connect. Your subscription is not affected, so your purchase can still be restored. It is free, it needs no account, and you do not have to ask us. If you would also like your subscription record deleted, email admin@trinitashomes.com.au and we will pass the request to our payment provider.

If something goes wrong. If we ever become aware of unauthorised access to or loss of your information that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Instructor email addresses. If you enter your instructor's email address so you can send them your chart, that address is stored on your phone and included in your backup. It is a third party's personal information. Please only enter it with their knowledge.

Complaints. Contact us at admin@trinitashomes.com.au. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

5. How we use your information

We use the information described above to provide the app and its features to you, calculate the estimates and charts the app shows you, manage your subscription, respond when you contact us, keep our app and website secure and working, send requested website updates, and meet our legal obligations.

We do not use your health or cycle information for any purpose other than providing the app to you on your device. We do not receive it unless you choose to send it to us, for example by contacting support.

6. Legal bases for using your information

Where the law that applies to you requires a legal basis for using your information, we rely on the following.

We collect your health information because you choose to enter it into Majella for your own use. It stays on your device unless you turn on backup.

We process subscription and contact information because it is necessary to provide the app to you and respond to your requests. We process limited website technical information on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping the website secure and understanding which pages people read, balanced against your rights.

Where you have given permission, you can withdraw it at any time. Doing so does not affect anything that happened before you withdrew it.

7. How your information is stored and protected

This section describes how your most sensitive information is kept. Please read it carefully.

The cycle and health information you record is stored on your device. If you choose to enable backup or sync, that information is stored in your own private cloud account provided by your device platform. That account belongs to you, not to us. Your device platform protects this information under its own security arrangements, terms and privacy policy.

We do not run any servers of our own, and your cycle information is not sent to us when you use the app. Because your backup lives in your own private cloud account rather than in any system we control, we cannot access its contents.

You can also protect access to the app on your device using the app-lock feature, which is stored securely on your device.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone's advertising.

We share limited information only with service providers who help us run the app and website, and only so they can perform that service for us. These include the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, RevenueCat for handling subscriptions and Wix for building, hosting, securing and providing analytics for our website. The Majella app contains no product analytics. These providers are not permitted to use your information for their own advertising purposes.

We may disclose information if required by law, a court order or a valid request from an authority, or where we reasonably need to protect our legal rights or the safety of others. Because your health and cycle information is generally held on your own device and in your own private cloud account rather than by us, a request of this kind to us would generally not provide access to that information.

9. International transfers

We are based in Australia. Some service providers may store or process information in other countries, including the United States. Google and GitHub may also process information in other countries where they or their service providers operate.

Where information is handled outside Australia, it may be subject to different privacy and data-protection laws. We take reasonable steps to ensure that information we disclose is handled consistently with this policy and applicable law.

10. How long we keep information

The cycle and health information you record stays on your device and in your own cloud account for as long as you keep it there. You can delete it at any time.

We keep subscription records and contact correspondence only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy and to meet our legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations. We then delete or anonymise them.

We keep email addresses submitted through our website until you ask us to remove them or they are no longer needed.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. These can include the right to access information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict certain uses, withdraw permission, and receive a copy of certain information in a portable form.

Because most of your health and cycle information is held on your own device and in your own cloud account rather than by us, you can view, change and delete most of it directly within the app.

To make a request about information we hold, contact us at admin@trinitashomes.com.au. We will respond within the time required by law. We will not charge you except where the law allows, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

If you are in California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under that law.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local privacy or data-protection authority.

12. Children

Majella is not intended for children. You must be at least 16 years old to use Majella, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can address it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the app, our practices or the law. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.

Your continued use of Majella after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

14. How to contact us or make a complaint

If you have any questions, requests or concerns about your privacy, contact us at admin@trinitashomes.com.au.

If you are in Australia and are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. If you are in another country, you can contact your local privacy or data-protection authority.
